Online Lecture on Cybersecurity and Cyber Hygiene has been Organized by DEA and IDFI

On April 21, within the framework of partnership between Public and non-governmental sectors, Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-GOV-GE), a subsidiary unit of LEPL Data Exchange Agency of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) teamed up to organize an online lecture on cybersecurity and cyber hygiene for the representatives of IDFI staff and participants of Certification program in fighting corruption offered by the same organization.

The online lecture was led by CERT-GOV-GE Manager Davit Kvatadze, who based on specific examples, provided the listeners with detailed information on the basic principles of cyber security and cyber hygiene, observing of which are even more critical in today''s situation.

Online lecture attendees received information on areas such as personal computer and email security, password security and management, secure internet, wireless networks, cyber hygiene, security tips when using mobile devices and social networks, and more.

"Today, when many of us are moving away from our work places, when the use of various devices has increased, it is especially important to follow the basic principles of cybersecurity and cyber hygiene. The high rate of technology use is directly related to the risks of cybersecurity, and in order to reduce these risks, it is important for each of us to be aware of the basic principles of cybersecurity and cyber hygiene. I think our listeners will successfully use the information received today in a real environment.” – said David Kvatadze, CERT-GOV-GE Manager.

Online lecture participants were also provided with information about the online course on cybersecurity, which is available on the e-Governance and Cybersecurity Online Training Platform created by LEPL Data Exchange Agency of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia with the help of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Government of Sweden.
